Family game night with your TV and everyone's phones
iminparty is a set of eleven party games that run in a web browser. The TV or a laptop shows the game, and each player uses their own phone as the controller. Nobody installs an app or makes an account. This guide covers what you need, how to start, and which games to pick for your group.
What you need
- A TV with a web browser, or a laptop. A laptop plugged into the TV works too.
- An internet connection for the screen. Phones can use the home Wi-Fi or their own mobile data.
- 2 to 8 players, each with a phone. Odd One and Scribble Relay need at least 3.
- Every game is made for ages 7 and up.
No TV, or only one phone? Every game also plays on a single phone that you pass around the table.
Start in 3 steps
- Open iminparty.com on the TV or laptop and pick a game.
- The screen shows a room code and a QR code. Each player scans the QR code with their phone camera, or opens iminparty.com and types the code.
- Players type a name and pick an avatar. When everyone is in, press Start on the screen.
Each game is designed so a round can be learned in under a minute and a game lasts 10 to 20 minutes. The how-to-play text is on the TV and on every phone while players join.
Which game for your group
| Game | How it plays | Players |
|---|---|---|
| Echo Chain (free) | The TV lights up a sequence once; everyone taps it back on their phone at the same time. The sequence grows by one each turn. | 2–8 |
| Dice Dare | Everyone rolls six dice at once on their phone, then keeps, banks or dares one more roll. | 2–8 |
| Tower Tap | Tap on the beat to stack a tower: a race on every phone, or one tower built together. | 2–8 |
| Eyeball | Guess dots, lengths, angles and seconds. The closest guess wins, so nobody needs to know facts. | 2–8 |
| Slingshot Showdown | Everyone aims at the same tower on their phone; the TV replays every shot. | 2–8 |
| Planet Pile | Take turns dropping planets into one shared sky. Same sizes merge; overflow ends the round. | 2–8 |
| Odd One | Every phone shows the same word except one. Give a clue, then vote for the odd one out. | 3–8 |
| Scribble Relay | Only the first player sees the word. Each player adds to the drawing without seeing it, then the room guesses. No typing. | 3–8 |
| Keeper | A penalty duel: one shoots, one picks a corner, everyone else predicts the result. | 2–8 |
| Strikeboard | Flick your striker across one shared board to pocket your discs. | 2–8 |
| Beat Line | Marks cross a line on the TV and everyone taps in time, with one shared combo meter in co-op. | 2–8 |
A plan for one evening
- Start with Echo Chain. It is free, and everyone plays at the same time, so nobody waits for a turn.
- With young children in the room, pick games that need no reading or typing: Echo Chain, Tower Tap or Beat Line.
- With 3 or more players who like to talk, play Odd One or Scribble Relay.
- Finish with a game where everyone watches the TV together, such as Slingshot Showdown or Keeper.
Echo Chain has Easy, Normal and Hard settings (3, 2 or 1 lives), which helps when players of different ages play together.
What it costs
- Echo Chain is free, TV play included.
- In every other game, practice and pass-and-play on one phone are free.
- TV play for 2 or more players unlocks with a pack: The Living Room Pack (6 games) or The Game Night Pack (5 games), $19.99 each, paid once by the host.
- The people you play with never pay. A pack works on 3 devices, does not expire, and has a 14-day refund.

No. Players open a web page on their phone by scanning the QR code. There is nothing to install and no sign-up.
Does it work on a smart TV?
It runs in the TV's web browser. If the TV has no browser, use a laptop, on its own or connected to the TV.
What does iminparty keep about players?
A name and an avatar for each room, deleted when the room closes. The details are in the privacy page.
Can we buy anything during a game?
No. There are no purchases inside a round. Packs are bought only on the store page.
